New Trough Contest!

The newest trough contest is a "match-the-sound" contest. In this contest you must visit the MBHOS and match the name of a pig in the museum with the sound it makes. A worksheet will be provided. Again, you must come to the MBHOS and listen to the pigs and learn about all the cool sounds they make -- some sing, some oink, others grunt. Help will be provided by the museum tour guide. The deadline for the contest is February 22nd at 5pm MST. You may deliver your answers in any way you please and the first completed worksheet with all correct will receive 4 tickets to see Cloud 9 in June. The second place winner to turn in a correct worksheet will receive 3 tickets to the Cloud 9 concert and the 3rd place winner will receive 2 tickets. If you do not get all the answers right the 1st time -- try, try again. It will be fun, good luck.

Happy Birthday!

At the Beazer home there was a birthday party on February 7th. Miss Eliza Beazer turned 6 years old and had her requested banana bread dessert. Just over a week prior our household also celebrated Miss Jessica's 5th birthday with a butterfly cake. Both these young ladies were beautiful on their special day and deserve a huge OINK from everyone.

Cloud 9 Prepares CD

Right now your favorite band, and the favorite band of the Hog Blog and MBHOS, is busy preparing for the release of their CD. Cloud 9 is in preparations for their summer concert and tour in conjunction with their debut CD. "We are so excited!" says lead singer Maggie Beazer. "We're working hard on perfecting some of our new songs." Cloud 9 has been very secretive about their song selection. They still won't reveal to The Trough which songs are going to make it onto the CD, which is sure to become one of the best CD's to debut in 2009 or this decade for that matter. Maggie Beazer promises, "The very latest our CD should be out is the end of March 2009." "We have found it hard to rehearse during the school year." says manager, Abby Beazer. She further laments, "First there is not much time and second, we are dealing with younger kids with short attention spans. We hope to get some work done over the 4 day weekend." Keep your eyes and ears open for the heart melting music of Cloud 9. Loyal fan, Blake Beazer, says, "I can hardly sleep at night waiting for the CD and the concert. That Lead singer, Maggie Beazer is sooooo cute and a great voice."

SHIRT Onstage!

One of the Hall of Swine's famous shirts appeared onstage recently at the Desert Star Theatre in Murray, Utah on Saturday February 7th at the 12 noon showing. Lead actor and MBHOS fan, Mandy Jensen, wore the shirt while playing Amanda Hugginkiss in "Home School Musical". Its appearance made this 4-star play a definite 5-star wonder.

PIGGY Spotlight

This issue's piggy spotlight is on Lanai. Lanai is a hula pig from Hawaii that the curator, Maggie Beazer, received as a gift from her parents. Lanai wears sunglasses, a straw hat, a coconut bra, and a grass skirt. She is a doll that bobbles and shakes at the waist. Lanai is in the miscellaneous section of the museum.
