A Merry M.B.H.O.S. Christmas

We at the M.B.H.O.S. hope your holidays have been merry and bright. The M.B.H.O.S. had a joyous Christmas and look forward to a great new year. Many pigs were donated by Blake and Brent Beazer, making the M.B.H.O.S. much bigger. Because of the influx of new pigs, Blake Beazer donated shelving to the museum. As well Blake Beazer completed a Swine Cross-stitch tapestry entitled, "A Few of My Favorite Things". This work of art is now hanging in the M.B.H.O.S. Aunt Jerry donated a candy peppermint pig, and aunt Becky contributed a PASS the PIGS game. Last but not least, official t-shirts were made for the M.B.H.O.S., showing the logo on the chest including the name and web-site for the Hog Blog. All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas.

Cloud Nine Update

After their amazing concert, Cloud 9 immediately started plans on a CD, scheduled to arrive in the winter/spring of 2009. Cloud 9 plans to have the songs they sand in their concert as part of their CD, as well as some new and original songs. "We're so excited." says Cloud 9 lead singer, Maggie Beazer. "Our CD will be a mix of new and old. We hope to have something for everyone." Cloud 9 has been brewing up some fresh tracks just for the CD. Second singer, Ashley Beazer, says, "You just put your hands in any randon spot on the piano keyboard and start playing with chords, and you've got it. It's magic."

Cloud 9 Concert a SMASH!
Earlier this week, a music group greeted their fans in a spectacular concert. This band was Cloud Nine. Their concert started off in the BYU room with Willie Wildcat getting the crowd pumped up by handing out $1 bills to the kids. Next, the color gurad dutues were handled by Richard Beazer and he brought out Old Glory for the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. After that Cloud Nine performed "On the Good Ship Lollipop" and "Up On the Housetop". After a short intermission, Cloud Nine performed "The Unbirthday Song", "Edelweiss", and "A Whole New World". The crowd then demanded an encore and Cloud Nine obliged and performed "Away in a Manger". One fan said, "It was rockin' hot. Those girls are awesome." The Concert was a SMASH led by lead singers Maggie and Ashley Beazer and back-ups by Eliza and Eden Beazer.

PIG POEM

The Trough has a new FAN. Pig Lover, David Morrison, has submitted a POEM to the Trough. We are pleased to include it here. He ahs some original pig artwork to go along with the POEM and look for it posted on the HOG BLOG in the future.
Maggie,
Here is a poem about pigs. My friend Howdy Sorensen wrote it mostly, and I helped a little. I've attached a word doc with the poem and a couple of illustrations I did a long time ago for one of the verses. And a bunch of pig faces. I appreciate your love for pigs.
Dave Morrison
PIGS
Pigs while I'm working,
Pigs when I'm done,
Pigs in a rocket that goes to the sun.

Pigs every month,
Pigs every week,
Pigs that go camping and fall in the creek.

Pigs on the outside,
Pigs in the middle,
Pigs that are dancing while one plays the fiddle.

Pigs that are skinny,
Pigs that are thick
Pigs that are roasting on the end of a stick.

Pigs that speak Spanish,
Pigs that speak French,
Pigs that play baseball and sit on the bench.

Pigs on the town,
Pigs in society,
Pigs in a struggle with ongoing sobriety.

Pigs that mean well,
Pigs that do harm,
Pigs that ride horses and work on the farm.

Pigs in the government,
Pigs in the sciences,
Pigs that can operate kitchen appliances.

Pigs in the arts,
Pigs in the nude,
Pigs that are famous and act very rude,

Pigs that are balding,
Pigs that wear wigs,
So scoot yourself over and make room for pigs.

by Paul R. Sorensen and David Morrison

Alternate endings

Pigs that are lazy,
Pigs on the run.
Pigs in the parlor, so this poem is done.

Pigs that are lazy,
Pigs on the run.
Pigs trying to get me, so this poem is done.
